Wausau, Wisconsin • Probably Open

“It's not a bar. It's a pregame that accidentally got a building.”

The long shot
that paid off.

PreGame Pub started with two guys, a big idea, and a lot more reasons it shouldn't have worked than reasons it should have.

Andrew and Buska didn't start with a perfect business plan or a pile of easy money. They started with a simple belief: Wausau deserved a bar with personality — a place where people could walk through the door after a long day, grab a cold drink, hear some good music, and feel like they were part of something.

Making that idea real was the hard part. There were long nights, unexpected problems, tough decisions, and plenty of moments when walking away would have been the easier choice. Instead, Andrew and Buska kept showing up. They worked, adjusted, learned, and kept pushing forward when the odds were telling them to quit.

Andrew brought the vision and the stubborn determination to see it through. Buska brought the energy, the hustle, and a talent for turning an ordinary night into a story worth telling. Neither one was willing to let a setback become the ending.

Little by little, the place came together. The doors opened. People started coming in. Then they started coming back — bringing friends, stories, celebrations, and the kind of chaos that makes a neighborhood bar feel alive.

What began as a risky idea became something neither of them could have built alone: a real Wausau gathering place powered by persistence, personality, and a refusal to give up.

That's the PreGame story: bet on yourselves, take the hits, keep moving, and beat the odds. And if the guy on the horse in the background knows anything about it, he's still not talking.
